The requirements for a minor must be completed concurrently with the major degree requirements. No minor may be added by completing courses after receiving the bachelor’s degree.
- Students must complete prerequisites for all courses. Students with significant experience in computer programming can get credit for C S 1323 from the Advanced Standing Examination.
- Students must complete at least nine (9) hours of C S coursework for the minor in residence at the University of Oklahoma
- At least 6 credit hours of upper division courses (3000 or 4000 level) required.
- Courses in the minor may be taken at most 3 times.
- A minimum grade of C is required in all courses which are applied to the minor and in all prerequisite courses for the minor.

MATH 1823 or Math 1914 are required for the minor, but they do not count as CS courses.
Math 2513 does count as a CS course.
Minors are available to all undergraduate students at OU. If the minor is officially declared, successfully completed, and noted on the graduation application, the student’s transcript will so indicate at the time the bachelor’s degree is posted.
